Traditional MAP testing asks three separate instruments, three separate operators, and three separate processes to agree on the integrity of a single package. The TPC Industrial replaces all of that with one automated sequence, initiated by pressing two buttons, producing objective quantified results that no water bath or manual pressure decay system can match.

Water baths produce visual results that depend entirely on whether the operator can see the bubbles — and they cannot reliably detect leaks below 30 microns. Pressure decay systems generate false positives on flexible packaging because soft pouches flex under pressure, corrupting the measurement. The TPC Industrial was engineered specifically to address both limitations. Its precision thermal mass flow meter measures the exact gas flow required to maintain a constant target pressure, converting that reading into an equivalent hole size down to 10 microns — objective, repeatable, and immune to pack movement.

Once launched, the machine is autonomous. The restraining plate lowers, the needle inserts automatically, gas analysis runs, the leak test completes, the burst test inflates to failure, the needle withdraws and back-flushes. No operator contact with the needle at any point. No septa to apply between tests. No blocked needles — ever. Needle replacement is an annual service item only.

The data case is equally compelling. Every test generates a timestamped, traceable result — gas reading, leak rate in microns, burst pressure in mbar — accessible via USB, ethernet or Wi-Fi and directly exportable to Excel. For QA managers building statistical process control or responding to a retailer audit, that evidence base is the difference between a defensible QC programme and an anecdotal one.
